Show the Love

By Toby Brown, 10/03/2010

I came across this promo the other day (when it topped the viral charts), and decided I’d  try and crowbar it into something Challenger related regardless.

Fortunately that wasn’t required as it rather nicely mirrors what Naresh from Green Thing is talking about in his interview. Rather than spend thousands on exotic locations, or employ legions of extras, Ok Go spent months building a Rube Goldberg inspired machine in a warehouse.

It took over an hour to reset when something didn’t go right.

They got the shot on the 60th take.

A brilliant way to Show the Love.

Such a pleasure to watch this. Cant believe it took 60 takes! I think they’ve been in hiding since the treadmill video just figuring out how to trump it… Success!

Unfortunately the band’s label don’t understand the need to spread the love far and wide. OK GO have had to now ditch their label, EMI, for not allowing the band to distribute their video’s on YouTube. A move that has seen their daily views drop 90%. Very short sighted. http://tinyurl.com/yhe955g
